The part nobody sees

A roof can be finished and still look fine from the ground.

Hail bruises the mat underneath the granules. Wind breaks the seal strip and lays the shingle back down like nothing happened. Neither one shows up from the driveway, and both of them start the clock on a leak you will find in a spare bedroom two winters from now.

Most carriers give you a limited window to report storm damage. Waiting is the one thing that turns a covered claim into a bill you pay yourself.

Forty five minutes on your roof tells you which one you have. It costs nothing and you keep the report either way.

Straight talk about money

You pay your deductible. Your carrier pays for the roof.

A deductible is the portion of the claim you agreed to cover when you bought the policy. It comes out of the claim, not on top of it. We will read your policy with you so you know that number before you sign anything.

Anybody offering to eat your deductible, waive it, or bury it in the paperwork is asking you to take part in insurance fraud, and your name is the one on the policy. We do not do that, and we will tell you why on the first visit.

What usually happens

  • A salesman knocks the day after the storm and wants a signature before he has been on the roof.
  • You meet the adjuster alone and hope the scope covers the whole roof.
  • The claim gets denied and that is where it ends.
  • You are told the roof needs replacing when it has years left.

What we do

  • We inspect first, then show you photographs of what is actually up there.
  • We meet the adjuster on the roof with you and point at every hit.
  • Denials get reopened with better documentation and a supplement.
  • If your roof is fine, the written report says so and we leave.

How it goes

Five steps, and we do four of them.

You make one call. From there we inspect, file, meet the adjuster, order the material, and put the roof on. You pay your deductible when the job is done.

  1. Free inspection with a written report

We get on the roof, photograph every slope, check the attic and the ventilation, and hand you a written diagnostic report before we leave. No fee, no deposit, no card on file.

  2. We file the claim with you

If there is real storm damage, we help you open the claim and give your carrier documentation they can act on. You are not left to explain hail bruising over the phone by yourself.

  3. We meet your adjuster on the roof

This is the step that decides what gets paid for. We walk the roof with the adjuster and point at every hit, every crease, every broken seal strip, so the scope covers the whole roof instead of one slope.

  4. Install day

Crews start early. Full tear off, deck inspected, any rotten sheathing replaced with a photo sent to you first, then underlayment, ice and water where it belongs, GAF or Owens Corning shingles, and new ventilation.

  5. Cleanup, final walk, deductible

Magnet sweep of the drive and the yard, a walk around with you, and the final inspection paperwork to your carrier. You pay your deductible and that is normally the end of your cost.

In their words

My claim was reopened three times, and thanks to Spencer's persistence and knowledge, I ultimately received a full roof replacement through my insurance company. He was even there the morning after the storm putting tarps on my roof to protect my home.
